Mystery Squeak, enough to make a person go mad
 

For those that may have the same squeak I had...

I had a squeak, a small annoying metal on metal squeak that made itself
present when teh suspension unloaded (front left side). By the time I got to
work every morning I was fit to be tied. This friggin squeak actually gave
me a headache. I had tried everything. I tightened every bolt I could find.
nothing, squeak never changed. Finally with the help of an extra set of
hands I tracked it down. there was play inbetween the grill and fender, the
bolts attching the two were tight, but it was still squeaking. I ended up
changing the brace from the firewall to the grill so it was pushing instead
of pulling the grill (pulling the grill more made the squeak worse). I've
had two weeks with no squeak, my hair is starting to grow back from having
pulled it out...

89 YJ was the Heep, it's allowed to squeak, I just have to know what it is
