My Jeep Belt
Hello!
Maybe one of you guys can help me? I just replaced my belt on my 1992 Jeep and I dont what the tension limit is or how to tell if it is tight enough as it is. Does anyone know? I would greatly appreciate the help! |

What model Jeep? You can buy a belt tension gauge, probably at the same
place you bought the belt. Most of us old guys go by the deflection and "feel" of it. If it doesn't squeal when you start up on a cold morning or when you turn the power steering to lock, it is probably tight enough. My daughter has one of those and she's bugging the heck out of me to fix it - but it's not bothering me so...
