May I suggest we ignore....

May I suggest that everybody just ignore the troll that has posted so many
RUDE and NASTY messages here in the last few days.

If everybody just totally ignored these messages, the troll would go away.

Come on folks, let's get back to discussing Jeeps.

IGNORE THE TROLL!

This is in another thread, but if you use nfilter.

www.nfilter.org

# remove forger and flag other pita.alt.net users:

rec.autos.* score:+50 message-id:(pita.alt.net)>$

Tom, I've been trying to get people to ignore the troll for a couple of
days... no luck... it seems that people actually *like* talking to
gutter-mouthed trolls! Go figure.

I normally don't kill-file anybody, I just don't read the post. Now that
Nathan Collier, Lon Stowell, Robert Bills, Just Taylor et al. are trying
piss off the planet by repeatedly contributing to this garbage, I may have
to block out their posts. Their childish BS has contributed tenfold the
trash emitted by Jeffrey Leonard and you have to ask yourself who the most
offensive morons really are.
To whom it may concern;
Grow up, shut up or leave before we all have to.

I don't see many pita-ites on at all... blocking them shouldn't be much of a
worry. If you ae a victim of outhouse express, er, I mean a user of outlook
express, just setup a new news rule, and block the domain.

Outhouse express won't block on the Message-ID, just the From: or Subject:
That's why I use nfilter :)

Guess I could fire up Agent or Xnews.. Just found the interfaces sorta klunky.

I downloaded nfilter and copied the filter text into it. It seems to be
working fine so far. Pretty neat.
Thanx

nfilter does a real good job but there are some limits.
It can only filter on information that is in the overview.fmt
sent by your news server.

To get this info you have to telnet to your news server and
do a "list overview.fmt".

This is from the cox.net news servers
#
#list overview.fmt
#Subject:
#From:
#Date:
#Message-ID:
#References:
#Xref:full
#

If you start to write regular expressions (search patterns)
this site is useful for testing them out.

one troll (and a very poor one at that) hasnt the juice to run us out of our
cyber-home. the only thing new about my latest wanna-be mini-me is he does
a much poorer job than his predecessors.
