loss of power
 
my 87 yj has been sitting all winter i started it several times. just back on
the road and it really bogs out at about 3000 rpms..is this just bad gas or
should i look for something else

any advise would be appreciated direct e-mails even more so

It'll be the step motor that adjusts the idle speed, number 57 at:
http://www.carburetorfactory.com/expvw03.html But just why it's running
at three grand could be anything from the sensors to the computer
controlling the speed. Most carburated Jeeps have converted to the
Nutter Bypass, that'll make it run as good an '84 without all that crap,
under ignition tweaking, at: http://home.sprynet.com/~dale02/list.htm

I find the gas tanks like to puke out a pile of junk after it sits. I
would change the gas filter as well as top it up with fresh gas.

would change the gas filter as well as top it up with fresh gas.
