Liberty trans gasket
I want to know if a 05 liberty with select trac uses a gasket on the
transmission or rtv. |
Re: Liberty trans gasket
Never use RTV for a trans pan gasket. There should be a gasket availible at

were did you get that info! more than half the transmissions out there come
from the factory that way! the liberty has a reusable trans gasket Carl S wrote: > Never use RTV for a trans pan gasket. If ANY of the RTV breaks off it can wreak havoc on the inside of an auto
trans. I have never seen an auto trans with rtv, only straight gaskets. I dont think a trans pan gasket is resuseable. Pull the pan, put on a new
gasket, don't use any sealer. if the gasket is of a rubber type material and has a steel sleeve were each pan
bolt goes then it is a reusable gasket good for 3 takes off before it needs replacing Gary wrote: > Explain "reusable gasket" > "Carl S" <carlsaiyed@REMOVE.hotmail.com> wrote in message > news:beWdnVQHBf0KDH7YnZ2dnUVZ_uOmnZ2d@comcast.com. .. > > If ANY of the RTV breaks off it can wreak havoc on the inside of an auto > > trans. Re: Liberty trans gasket
carl you may be a nice guy and i mean no disrespect but your advice is
incorrect there is a ton of cars with reusable trans pan gaskets like some ford trucks and mercury grand marquies are the first ones that come to mind most of the rear wheel drive vehicles have them and most of the dc front wheel drive cars are siliconed together i work on more cars in a week than u will in a month and that includes trans work Carl S wrote: > I dont think a trans pan gasket is resuseable.
