Jeep Rear axle bearings vs Chrysler Corp
 

I have a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Ltd with a noisy rear axle. Preliminary
diagnosis from an Indie - bad bearings, perhaps rebuild of rear axle which
means $$$.

Has anyone successfully filed a claim against Chrysler? There sure seems to
be a lot of horror stories regarding '97 and '98 Jeeps.

$40K and only 59K miles and already JUNK.

Sorry, it's very common, but I've never hear of Daimler eating it.
Usually the rear end will have the telltale floor jack marks in the
aluminum housing, that bent it out of align:
