Jeep engine replacement
 
Just wondering if anyone knows off the top of their head. Can the 1989
Wrangler 4 cylinder 2.5 be swapped out for a 6 cylinder 4.2 without
major modifications? I'm hoping to use original transmission and
mounting points. Thanks,

Hi Dan,
You definitely don't want the Peugeot transmission even it it fit,
which it doesn't. I'd keep my eyes open for a complete donor Jeep, one
like a salvaged wreck with a 4.0L with fuel injection and all the wire
harness and computer and swap the engine, trans, and transfer as a
whole. because there's many shaft differences between the four and six
cylinder that'll be a headache. A helpful specs page at:
