Jerry, there are signs that one should just stop feeding the trolls. This
one isn't in my kill file yet, because I want to see the ads for that
Amsoil/Deutz dealership.

Getting rid of the third class medical is its only advantage, and that
should have been done a long time ago. People with waiverable
conditions or prohibited ones whom the states allow to drive a
noncommercial motor vehicle are a far greater threat to the lives and
properties of others if impaired while driving a car than flying a
LIGHT aircraft. (The Hawker Hunter that demolished a house the other
day is not a light aircraft: it was a 16,000 lb bomb, and yes pilots of
those should meet airline medical standards.)
Better yet: Since a "light aircraft" is 12,500 pounds, declare an
"ultralight" to be 1250 lbs under Part 103.
