How heavy transmission is?

Going to do clutch in 2wd Cherokee 94 (5sp I6)

Is transmission heavy for 2 average guys to pull out on hands?

Re: How heavy transmission is?

Depends on where you do it. On a lift or with a pit, it's not too
bad. Lying on your back with just a couple of jack stands to get it
up a little, it is a real bear. Suggestion: after you remove the
shift tower (which is about the first step) drop a strong rope or
chain sown through the hole and loop it under the transmission. Run a
board - 2x4 or larger - through the two windows and use a come-along
or pullies to take the weight off. You don't have to mess with the
transfer case since it is not 4WD so it might be doable but I would
still want the rope to act a a snubber so that it can't fall or slip
on you. First, that hurts and second, it will damage the transmission
<g>.
