How heavy transmission is?
Going to do clutch in 2wd Cherokee 94 (5sp I6)
Is transmission heavy for 2 average guys to pull out on hands? |

Depends on where you do it. On a lift or with a pit, it's not too
bad. Lying on your back with just a couple of jack stands to get it up a little, it is a real bear. Suggestion: after you remove the shift tower (which is about the first step) drop a strong rope or chain sown through the hole and loop it under the transmission. Run a board - 2x4 or larger - through the two windows and use a come-along or pullies to take the weight off. You don't have to mess with the transfer case since it is not 4WD so it might be doable but I would still want the rope to act a a snubber so that it can't fall or slip on you. First, that hurts and second, it will damage the transmission <g>.
