How could a bad crank cause pinging?

If there was no pinging on an engine before putting a MPI kit on it would
the MPI kit bring out the un-seen bad in an engine?

thanks in advance,

bill

You mean like worn out rod bearings, wrist pins, piston slap, I
don't think so. Being out time surely could exaggerate any problem,
though.
