Help with side step installation.
I just got a set of factory side steps for my 03 X from another newsgroup
person and they came with the 14 bolts, but not the frame inserts. So I was looking online and it looks like Mopar part #6504397 for about $3.50 a peice will be what I need to put into the jeep frame to be able to connect the side steps. My local dealer's parts department is already closed for the day so I will have to give them a hollar tomorrow, but is this something that all the dealers will have in stock? Is there any way to get around having to also purchase the installation nut and installation bolt to be able to fit the frame insert rivet things into the jeep? If not does anyone know the part numbers to the installation tool items and how much jeep is going to stick me for? Thanks! Cameron |
Re: Help with side step installation.
Was looking at it again and it appears I will only need 4 rivet fastener
things on each side. That should bring the cost down alittle bit :-) |
Re: Help with side step installation.
Check ebay. Those inserts show up there all the time.

Re: Help with side step installation.
Yeah, Ive already checked that all out. But for $15-$20 for 8 rivet things
plus shipping, I think im better off just paying the dealer $30 and just picking them up localy. Do you have any idea about installing the rivet things with out the special jeep tool? --Cameron "Al B.
