You're thinking TJ. In the YJ, the dome lamp shares #16 (fed by #8) in
the power distribution center under the hood.

Pulling #16 from the PDC would disable the dome and courtesy lights
completely, so that you couldn't turn them on even using the dimmer
switch. It would also kill the clock and radio memory, and in my Jeep,
the CB as well. The owners manual calls this an "ignition off draw" circuit.

All in all, it is _way_ easier to just yank the wire on the door switch
like Chrysler intended.
