Re: help '87 cherokee brakes
I should have gone into more detail. I replaced the master cylinder both
calipers, rotors and pads. I didn't do the rear as the shoes had about 70% left. Before I started I flushed the system with new fluid. After the new gear was installed I ran into this problem. It's been suggested that the proportioning valve might be the problem but I don't know how to check it out and can't see any way to adjust it. Any suggestions? I hate to just start replacing parts at random. Did you bleed the new master cylinder before you installed it?

Re: help '87 cherokee brakes
The combination valves don't fail often and when they do usually they
take out two of the wheels..... I would be suspecting a bad flex hose.
