has my shock gone bad?
When I lift the xj with the wheels off the axel, one side of the front axel
hangs way lower than the other, and if I stand on it, I can't get it to go lower. Me thinks the shock is blown and won't let it go down all the way. I can't understand because its not getting caught up on anything else? They are old man emu nitro shocks. |

Take it off and find out. Unless you have moved the shock absorber
mounts the shock will have a collapsed length of 13.250" an extended length of 21.125" for 7.875" of travel. The shocks shouldn't stop the movement of the tire under those conditions
unless it is broken. The tire should be controlled in that case by the springs, not the shocks. I would be wondering why the other tire is hanging low, that sounds like a possible broken spring.
