has my shock gone bad?

When I lift the xj with the wheels off the axel, one side of the front axel
hangs way lower than the other, and if I stand on it, I can't get it to go
lower.

Me thinks the shock is blown and won't let it go down all the way. I can't
understand because its not getting caught up on anything else?

They are old man emu nitro shocks.

Take it off and find out. Unless you have moved the shock absorber
mounts the shock will have a collapsed length of 13.250" an extended
length of 21.125" for 7.875" of travel. Monroe XJ size:

Re: has my shock gone bad?

The shocks shouldn't stop the movement of the tire under those conditions
unless it is broken. The tire should be controlled in that case by the
springs, not the shocks. I would be wondering why the other tire is hanging
low, that sounds like a possible broken spring.

CRWLR did pass the time by typing:

Or a question of which side has the track bar on it. :)
