Has anyone put a diesel into a Cherokee?
Hello All
Well I have to say I know there is a lot to doing the conversion and it will take years for the conversion to pay for itself but when you get something into your mind you have to look at what is the proper ways to go. I have a lovely 90 4 door Cherokee that for being in Canada is pretty well rust free. The gas engine in it is good for another 10,000 miles give or take a few. So who has done what with something like this? Thanks Stephen Cahill |

Hello Bill
We all know that Lump.I was thinking of the 1.9 or 2.0 VW Engine or a 5 or 6 cylinder MB engine. As for rolling on the Floor are you driving something that get better fuel milage than that diesel? As my post said has anyone converted a vehicle to diesel that was gasoline. Re: Has anyone put a diesel into a Cherokee?
Stephen, I have driven over a million miles burning diesel, clogging my
lungs and the world's atmosphere with pollutants far dirtier than any untuned gasoline vehicle. If you want to trade half your horse power for a few more miles per gallon then find, but move to Europe where dirty gray buildings are excepted. Diesel is over twice as dirty: http://www.dieselnet.com/standards/us/light.html Now what is your reasoning?
