Hard top question
Hi, Yesterday I found a 99 jeep wrangler hard top. I was wondering if it would fit a 98 jeep? If so, what things will I need to install it?( bolts, gaskets). Thanks in advance. Have sense, patience, and self-restrain,and no mischief will come. |

I've been hunting for a deal on one for a bit now & it's my understanding that the hard tops are pretty much interchangeable from 97 up. As far as what you will need to install it I can't help ya much cause I yet to do it but I've got to think you'll need the bolts to clamp it down, some rubber gasket material to keep out the elements, a wiring harness if it has rear defrost & or wiper. Most of this stuff you can find on ebay & I'm sure I'm forgetting something. L8r - Jersey |

Re: Hard top question
Yes it should fit a 98 just fine.
If it does not come with the 6 bolts that hold it to the body you will need something (C-clamps work in a pinch for a short time/distance) to hold it down to the body. The only gasket, etc is at the front, at the top of the windsheild, that should be on your Jeep already. Hard top for a TJ is pretty much just set it on and bolt it up and clamp it down (clamps are attached to the hard top). The only trick is making sure that the gasket thingy at the top of the windsheild is clean and has no dirt or sand. If its got sand etc in it, its much more likely to have a wind or water leak. Re: Hard top question
Hi,
Thanks for all the fast re-ply's. I don't know how much they want for the hard top yet. But once I see it-I"ll buy it. Thanks again. > Hi, > Yesterday I found a 99 jeep wrangler hard top.
