gearing in my TJ?
 
Hey everyone,

Is there any easy way to find out what rear gear I have in my TJ?

call any? jeep dealership with your vin number and they may be able to look
it up, i called the parts department for mine

Hi Josh,
A quick way is to jack up one rear wheel and mark the driveshaft
and tire and because the turns are being reduced by two to one by the
spider gears, in an open differential:
http://----------.com/dana35c/35cSpiders.jpg count the number of
revolutions the driveshaft makes and divide by two. If the tire won't
turn in neutral then you have a locked or a limited slip, so you'd have
to jack up both rear tires and count directly. Or you may see a tag
between two cover bolts with the ratio stamped without the decimal. Or
you may request a build slip via:
