Fuel pickup issues
89 YJ w/2.5. Gauge showed 1/4 to 1/3. Jeep started starving for fuel in
turns and on slopes and would shut off. Managed to get to a filling station and put 12 gallons in the tank. I think its a 15~ gallon tank meaning I should have had 3 or so gallons in the tank. Jeep ran fine for the ride home, approx 30 miles, with a full tank. I replaced the pump about 3 or so years ago. Any ideas? >G< |

Re: Fuel pickup issues
Electric. I still heard the 'hum' from the pump when it behaved this way so
I believe the pump was still running, just not sure how well. >G< "Mike Romain" <romainm@sympatico.ca> wrote in message news:42EFAD3F.84035795@sympatico.ca... > Mechanical or electric pump? > > Mike > 86/00 CJ7 Laredo, 33x9.5 BFG Muds, 'glass nose to tail in '00 > 88 Cherokee 235 BFG AT's > > Gordon wrote: > > > > 89 YJ w/2.5. Re: Fuel pickup issues
Did the pickup have a flexible end on it or was it a solid pipe. The
ends have been known to fall of and it is unusual, but the pipes have cracked or rust holed by being left almost empty lots so condensation can build up on the pipe out of the liquid.
