I was up to 150 or so per hour yesterday, then the Comcast
mail server barfed. Still getting about 10-20 per hour
today.

For folks with Outlook, make sure your firewall and AV
software is still running... that worm takes them out.

I was up to 150 or so per hour yesterday, then the Comcast
mail server barfed. Still getting about 10-20 per hour
today.

For folks with Outlook, make sure your firewall and AV
software is still running... that worm takes them out.

Life is so much easier here with WIN 95 and Nescape 4.7...

If Norton is not flagging the worms in the attachments, it isn't
sufficiently up to date. The Intelligent Updater patch was only
released 18 sep and the Live Update was only scheduled to be
released on 24 Sep, although Symantec may have changed this
after upgrading the worm thread due to this high PITA factor.

The cure would be to beat your ISP bloody senseless to run
all mail thru a viral scan appliance... they are very fast
and very cheap.

No, those are worms. W32.Swen.A@mm which may also be flagged
as Worm.Automat.AHB by Norton. If you see .ini, .exe, or
.jpg files that are NOT being flagged, your virus software
is downlevel.

A small number of the mails are from virus scan engines that
are returning errors to you due to the original worm having
your email address as source.
