If my cell phone charger and my wallet are in the glove box on my 00 XJ, it
makes the worst squeak in the world.

The above folklore was more commonly rendered as someone being driven
nuts by a rattle from their megapriced Italian exotic, only to finally
have it traced down to a tobacco can with a ball bearing and a note
inside: "So, you finally found it you rich capitalist pig" after having
essentially ripped the body apart.

Completely unrelated but my old man used to tell the story of pulling apart
airborne radar systems down in Texas late in WWII. They didn't want guys
doing field repairs on some stuff but the old man dug in anyway. Got pretty
far into one set and found a note that read "if you're in this far you're
----ed". But he got it fixed anyway.
