I use a local hamster news spool, so filtering out google
froups is very easy. However, I prefer to report spam in this
group simply because if someone doesn't then the abuse will
continue and grow.

I'm not sure it helps. Google will take no action at all against
spammers, however they'll send you a very nice email telling you thanks
for the report and then do nothing.

Google, is probably the quickest I've found to closed an abusive
account, Shaw is the worst by far!
