I understand it also comes from the fat, but I could be wrong. They do wind
up killing a lot of the lambs anyway, and as you must know they are yummy.

Lanolin is also known as Anhydrous Wool Fat

Adeps lanae (Wool fat / Sheep fat) info view buy
Wool fat, or anhydrous lanolin, is a purified cholesterol fat obtained
from the wool of the sheep, Ovis aries, Linn. (Order Ungulata). The natural
grease is extracted from the wool. Wool fat is closely allied to the natural
secretions of the skin.

Another option is to test on lawyers. They are overpopulated, and have no
good or rational economic value.
