But it will and does. That's even in the service manual.

Yup, you give them too much credit for sure.

The Jeep computers 'always' throw an AC code if you don't have it, I was
being funny, hence the wink, ;-)....

Measure across the two outer wires. Should have 5 volts.
Measure between the ground wire and the center wire.
Throttle closed >200 milliVolts
Throttle wide open <4.8 Volts
As the throttle is moved between idle and WOT, the voltage
should smootly increase with no dropouts or jumps.

Do not attempt to troubleshoot the code about the lack of AC, it's supposed
to be there.
