It's possible that he has one laying around, and wants it out of the way.
That is real cheap for an oem top.
I'd jump on it, but make sure it is a mopar top, and not steel horse or
something cheap like that.

Dealer Price on hard top for 98 TJ is $1100?
 
This just seems way too cheap.. I just called my dealer, asked for a price
on a new factory hard top for my TJ, and the guy said "$1100.00". Is this
possible? That sounds about $600.00 cheaper than any OEM top I've heard of
before. Is it possible he confused it with something else?

Yeah.. I'm definitely going to have to stop in and take a look (if it's
actually on-site). I was going to order something after-market, possibly a
"two-piece" hardtop, and just figured I'd call and see what the Dealer
wanted for a new one-piece factory top, and BAM. $1100 he says and I'm
woo-hooing all over the place, if that's correct. (But it just seems a bit
too cheap.. something fishy is smellin' up da place) *heh*

I wonder if that has the rear wiper, defroster, and the wiring harness
for your Jeep as well... Hmm... Where IS this dealer of yours?
