D60 in an XJ
A friend of mine has a 1980 Dodge Ramcharger with a bad transmission. It has
a D60 rear, and a D44 front. Limited-slip in the rear, manual hubs up front. Is it reasonable to have these shortened to be installed on my 89 Cherokee after my next lift? (probably 6+" in the works). Thanks, Carl |

Hi Carl,
I know many that have just reversed the steel rim centers to give it a lot of back spacing. Your hubs will be hanging out there in harms way, though. Around here, it cost a thousand bucks an axle to cut them down, it's usually cheaper to buy the whole axle form Currie: http://www.currieenterprises.com/ God Bless America, ßill O|||||||O mailto:-------------------- http://www.----------.com/ Carl Saiyed wrote: > > A friend of mine has a 1980 Dodge Ramcharger with a bad transmission. Many Jeepers would, though, if the axles don't have Kalifornia SMOG
ratios. God Bless America, ßill O|||||||O mailto:-------------------- http://www.----------.com/ Carl Saiyed wrote: > > Thanks, Bill. Looks like I wont be putting those under my XJ. > > Carl |
