Coutesy Lights in 98 Grand Cherokee
Please help!!!!
I have a 98 Grand and the interior lights have been just killin me. First off I'm a licensed electrician which makes this even worse. The lights refuse to turn off but flicker off then on again while driving mainly while turning left. I have pulled all 4 door switches to check for proper connections they seem ok. I'm not totally sure where to look in the taiglgate. The only solution I have found to date is to pull the fuse. The lights sometimes will go out after sitting for many minutes. It first started happening only when very cold in winter but has progressed to constant. This makes getting in the car at night for my wife frightening. |

The system is ground activated so any cut or worn wire getting a ground could cause the lights to come on. I've ran into problems with the plastic that holds the overhead lamps breaking. But usually that results in no lights overhead. Last time I had problems with lights staying on it was due to a pinched wire running back to the rear driver side door. I had to literally feel the wires to find that problem. -- DougW |
