correct idle rate for '94 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Hi All,
Can anyone tell me what the correct idle rate is for a '94 Jeep
Grand Cherokee? Mine seems to be idling at around 1100 rpms ..is this
too high? Thanks in advance!

That would imply a vacuum leak to me. I would be checking all the lines
for one off.

That sounds about right for N or P, but a bit high for D. It sounds good for
a cold motor that hasn't come up to temp yet, but not for a car that has
just come off the freeway. Having said that, it is controlled by the engine
management system, and there's a good chance you can't change it simply by
twisting on a screw or two.

600rpm is "normal" but that depends on if the AC is running and if you
have the I6, V8 is probably around 800.

There is no way to set the idle rate manually, no screws to twiddle with
or knobs to turn. High idle indicates a vac leak. Likely culprit is the
line running to the CCV (back of the valve cover to the intake rail), but
any of the soft parts can get old and split. A bit of TB cleaner sprayed
on them will let you know by making the engine stammer.

Also clean the throttle body, the idle control motor is probably gummy.
