coolant temp gage..

In the 258 motor where would a mechanical sending unit for temp go in at
best? Ive seen the threaded plugs in the side of the block, but these look
to be hard to get out. Is there a better place?

Thanks

Steve

They are usually put in the cylinder head, because that is the hottest part
of the engine. I can't remember ever seeing one anywhere else.
