Clink,,,ing sound

Gi'day
Last weekend I was out on some logging roads in Quebec.
Actually I was trying to find the forest access road between
Ladysmith and Lac Cayamat. (Anyone know that road?)
It's just a gravel logging road nothing serious
to even warrant putting it in 4x4.

Anyway when going up a fairly steep hill I kept hearing
something like a metal clinking sound when the tires briefly spun on
loose gravel.
I'm hoping it's just rocks and the MTR tires. But not sure. It's not
like rocks
thrown on the sheetmetal but like a metal clink.....clink.... ing sound.
It's a 05TJ Rubicon with 5000Km's on it.
I've had Jeeps before and never heard anything like
this before. But none had tires like the MTR's.
It does sound fine (Gears)otherwise.
Anyone know anything about this?
Thanks in advance

Well those MTR's can throw rocks pretty good. Did it sound like the noises
were in the wheel wells?

Re: Clink,,,ing sound

No, rocks thrown in the wheel well is very distintive.
This kinda sounds like metal breaking.
Everything sounds normal otherwise. If I was to guess
it might be rocks embeded in the tire treads clicking
with rocks on the road. At least I hope that's what it is.
Like I said, I never heard anything like this before.
But then again none of my other Jeeps had tires like the MTRs
Only Goodyear Wranglers.

Re: Clink,,,ing sound

I would want to get under there and look. Sorry I dont have any big ideas.
If its making that much noise then a problem should be obvious.
