CJ8 6cyl water pump replacement sealer?

1982 CJ8 6 cylinder water pump failed.
Second time -- I replaced the original water pump about 15 years ago.
Have pulled out the failed pump .. ready to install new one.
Question #1 .. should I put some sort of sealer or some sort of thread
lock on the bolts that hold the pump to the block? (I don't remember
for sure, but seem to remember I did use something the first
replacement.)
And if so, what should I use??
Question #2 .. is there supposed to be a gasket or some sort of sealer
between the pump itself and the block? (I don't see anything from
when I replaced it before .. but that was a long time ago so I'm just
not sure.)
Just trying to be careful here, do it right, and avoid problems for
the next 15 years?!.
Thanks,
Mike

There is either a paper gasket or the pump should have come with a small
tube of RTV. It needs a sealer.
I think I put mine on with dry bolts.
Just an FYI, make sure they sold you the right pump, that engine will
take two of them, one is a reverse rotation for serpentine belts.
