CJ I6 question

For someone with a stock CJ using the 4.2l I-6 with the T-5 tranny and
stock tires...

What is the engine RPM at any speed (say 55 MPH) in 4th? In 5th?

What size, actually, are the stock tires? (In metric values please -
ie, p215 75R25 etc).

Thanks

Re: CJ I6 question

We need to know your Differential ratios. Your T-5 will be direct,
one to one in fourth gear. And your tire will be 27.7 inches in
diameter for the other number to plug in at:

True I forgot to ask for axle ratio. But, I'm not looking to put my
info into a calculator. I want to know what RPM the engine was
*designed* to run at while driving at a particular speed.

As an aside, I'd also like to see the factory torque/horsepower curve
for a stock 258. Which reminds me, I should have specified the 258 in
the original post.

Re: CJ I6 question

What year? Many older Jeep engines are designed to run efficiently
around three grand. Choked SMOG engines down around two. Of course,
that it will vary with carburation size in Cubic Feet per Minute,
Camshaft cross flow duration, compression ratio, and headers
