CJ horn and wiper fluid motor info needed
My CJ does not have a horn or a wiper fluid reservior. I went out an picked
that stuff up from a junk yard the other day. I haven't had time to get into this much, but I do know that I don't see any wires that look like they don't have anywhere to go. Does anyone know the color(s) and what side of the engine compartment these wires are and where this stuff used to bolt to? Where do the wires run *from* in the engine bay? My Chiltons sucks..doens't even list a horn in the wire diagram. Thanks! Allen 83 JC7 |

Washer pump power wire is yellow and I think the horn is a red with a
white stripe that should be on the top of the drivers side fender. The Haynes manual has a decent wiring diagram. Re: CJ horn and wiper fluid motor info needed
Both wires are in the harness that starts at the bulkhead connector at the firewall then runs along the top of the left inner fender and into the grill. The washer pump wire is probably Yellow/White and is near the ignition module bolted to the lower edge of the fender well. The washer tank bolts to three holes just above that module. The horn bolts to the fender very close to the grill, the horn wire is probably Red/Black. Both get full (+) voltage when the appropriate switch is closed. You may need to fashion a new ground lead for the washer pump. The OEM was a wire riveted to the pump housing and usually rots away.
