Cherokee Winches
I'm picking up a Warn 8000 or 9000lb winch used from a friend for CHEEAAP
today. I know it works because it was on my old truck which I sold to him. I'd like to mount it via a front reciever for now, as I like the idea of being able to remove the winch when I am not wheeling. I live in an urban area and I'm concerned the winch will be stolen. I use a Draw Tite front receiver on my 97 GC and it works very well. It is a bolt on installation in place of the front skid plate, includes two tow eyes and does not interfere with the existing tow hooks. It required no cutting of the bumper fascia to install and decreased the approach angle just a bit. I think they also make a unit for the Cherokee,. On my 88 Cherokee I fabricated a front receiver that mounted to the factory tow hook mounts. I'm a mechanical engineer and was able to design and then weld it up. If you go the "build" route be warned that 8 or 9000# requires a good bit of steel to handle that load. Your idea to buy rather than build is the way to go. Howard |

Are these two parts what I need? Will I have any problems with the hitch
