That depends on if you have two O2 sensors.

If you only have an O2 sensor upstream from the Cat then
yes, it will work. If you have one upstream and one
downstream then no, it will not work (although I have
been told that second sensor can be faked out since all it
does is throw a trouble code).

It has 2 sensors, 1 up and one down. I was hoping it would learn when I d/c
the bat. I'm surprized it didn't throw a code when it was breaking up.

clogged cat. and you cleaned it out! that in itself will set a code.
