Check Engine Light 98 Cherokee

Just back from the shop, fixed cruise control, flush radiator and heater
core, trans flush and filter. Trans was fluctuating between 2nd and Drive at
highway speeds when ckeck engine light came on, fluids ok, all temps ok.
After 10 miles ( had to get home ) trans settled down. Can I reset by
battery disconnect,,or should I have Auto Zone/Pep Boys run a scan ????

More details on the "trans flush", please. Did you have one of those
machines do it, or did you use some home-brewed method? I am guessing that
your torque converter had some air in it, which eventually worked its way
out. I would want to know what that code was, myself.
