Bodywork - rust repair
 

Whats the current 'trend' in DIY rust repair these days?
My 20+ year old Cherokee is starting to 'go' and needs a body overhaul.

I prefer solder repair, am unkowledgable with MIG or TIG ....

so I guess the real question at hand is lead/tin solder still
considered a good way of repairing rusted panels, etc. ..... and the
beginnings of 'body cancer', etc. Im planning on a completely new
paint job and sure dont want to go through all that work only to have
it rust through again. Any 'new' tricks etc. that you can share would
be appreciated.
