Aussie Rip Off on Parts Prices - Help Pls
Hello all,
I was looking at buying a 95 XJ Sport in VGC except for a missing airbag (theft). No worries, I thought... I'll just get a price from my friendly local dealer... Try AUD 2,955 !!! Yep, that's the equivalent of over USD 2,000. Best I could do from a non-dealer, Jeep-specialist was AUD 2,300 new OE, or AUD 1,100 for a pre-loved item. That's for just the airbag, not the wheel or column or anything else. The dealer wasn't impressed when I suggested that I wanted just one, not a six-pack... He was almost as un-impressed as I was getting a price like that. Question for the group:- Is there a reputable seller of Jeep parts (OE and used) in the US that you'd recommend? Bits have gotta be cheaper over there than here! Another example is rear tail-lights are about AUD 300 each here. P.S. No wonder it was going cheap... I'm beginning to re-think my new found love of the XJ. Any help, thoughts, comments or suggestions will be very welcome. Last time I checked I wasn't clearing half a mill a year... Cheers, Clax. |
