ARB Air compressor

My friend is selling his arb air compressor. If I add a tank would it
be strong enough to fill tires? I know the York is the answer but at
this price it is a good deal.

Re: ARB Air compressor

An ARB air compressor is great at providing the air pressure for ARB Air
Lockers but it positively sucks as a compressor for airing up tires. First,
its' duty cycle isn't meant for running as long as it takes to refill big
tires, but mainly, it pumps such a low 'volume' of air that you're there all
day waiting for it to fill the tires. It is only meant to provide enough
air pressure to reliably engage the lockers... it was not designed to pump
the kind of air volume needed to fill up big tires.

There is a huge difference between a compressor being able to pump to a high
pressure, which is very easy to with even a cheap compressor can do that,
and being able to put out the kind of air volume that makes filling tires
something other than a long ordeal.

I strongly (!) recommend against ARB's air compressor for tire duty.
