Anyone put a racing seat in their YJ?
My drivers seat is coming apart at the seams (literally). I bought some
besttop seat covers, but I'm not satisfied with how they fit. I can get a Racing Seat and Black padded cover from Summit for $61.00 I was just curious as to how hard it was to make a racing seat fit. Thanks. -- Daren McMorris 95 YJ 4 Banger with Header and Exhaust, 4.0l Throttle Body Adjustable MAP Sensor, MSD 6A Dana 44's with 5.38 gears Detroit Rear, Lockright Front Rino tub, Throttle, Dual Batteries, 35" Krawlers, On Board Air |

Even with the padded cover they are hard of the ole' backside, even in a car. They are a bit more pricey, but Corbeau has some nice seat for less money than most other brands. Their website is http://www.corbeau.com/brochure/. Especially look at the Baja series. I have them and they are quite comfortable, as well as functional. Chris |

Hi Daren,
If you're talking about the fiberglass seats commonly used in VW Dune Buggies they don't fit. Their base pushes the seat forward right up under the steering wheel. Mustang seats work for me. Re: Anyone put a racing seat in their YJ?
Thanks Bill.
I guess that's why you can buy an adapter bracket for a YJ from 87-90 but not 91-95. Must be something different about the seats or the mounts. I'm not sure if they are the ones in VW's but here is a link..... http://www.4wd.com/shopwrangler/Prod...sGeneral&pg=17 The only difference is that Summit Racing has the complete set (cover and seat) for $61. Re: Anyone put a racing seat in their YJ?
I can't tell how the seat you're looking at is designed, but if
it's like this bucket: http://www.pape-ent.com/seats/html/618_807.html The area below your tail bone is up against your fender well pushing the seat forward, a good four inches, over a factory Mustang seat. Re: Anyone put a racing seat in their YJ?
Bill,
Looks like that's exactly the same seat. Here is summit's link. Click on the "kit" and it shows the details, but no dimensions. But it looks identical. http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...rt=sum-csum101 Daren "L.W.
