annoying inconsequential matter
Anyone wanna guess why, if I park uphill in the driveway, my
jeep needs 5 or 6 cranks to start, but if parked downhill, the normal 1st crank starts it. Like I said, it is nothing more than an annoyance. It does sit for a day or two at a time no matter how I park it. Just a guess but maybe it has something to do with the time it takes for the fuel pump to build enough pressure to push fuel uphill, whereas downhill gravity will aid in feeding the fuel to the engine? If it is parked uphill for only a couple of hours there wouldn't be enough time for the pressure to bleed off. Maybe there is a small internal leak in your system or maybe that is normal for the Jeep fuel system. You gas filter isn't lined up right would be my guess.
The filter has two outlets. The center outlet goes to the carb and the top outlet goes to the return line. If the return line isn't at the top, gas will syphon back to the tank when it sits. Your return line is likely level with the center outlet so when it gets on an angle, it syphons.
