AMC360 swap into a Wrangler ???
 

I have a 1990 Wrangler with a 4.2L motor, AX15 Transmission and NV231
transfercase.
I also have a 90 Grand Wagoneer with a AMC 360 motor, 727 Automatic
transmission and 229 transfer case.
I would like to swap the AMC360 into the Wrangler along with its Dana 44s.
What is the best, easiest and cheapest way and what would I need for the
swap?

AMC 360 motor and AX15 Transmission and NV231 transfercase
AMC 360 motor, 727 Automatic transmission and NV231 transfercase

should be able to break simply by accelerating:

should be able to break simply by accelerating:

I note that the 727 it comes with is rated M on your chart, same as the
AX15.
The 360 in its stock form isn't that powerful (145 bhp / 300lb ft), although
I
gather that putting an edelbrock performer cam/intake/carb ups the power
considerably.
