Adding some diamond plate
Hi all,
I have a 95 YJ and I want to remove the step/flare beneath the door, and put on some aluminum diamond plate. Anything I need to know before I bolt it on? Anything to help prevent future corosion in that area. It is solid now, no rust, but I don't want to give it anyplace to start. I'll take any and all suggestions. Thanks you, Greg |
Re: Adding some diamond plate
First thing I think of when I see diamond plate is " that guy is
trying to hide some holes". Snow... |

Insulating under it will just hold water and rot it that way. Gluing it on with butyl might work... I have seen them in black, and they look nice. I don't know about anyone else, but for me unless you stand right up close to it, you can't tell it's not metal. And this thermoplastic may eliminate your problem of metal touching metal and causing corrosion in the future. As I said, just a suggestion. |
