AC Compressor or Alternator?
Yesterday I had a strange noise comming from around the A/C clutch,
sounds like it could be a bearing going out on the pully (noise goes away when clutch engages), now today went to run an errand and it would not start, after finally getting it to start, would not stay running, check engine light came on when trying to start (said no bus in odemeter) and check gauges lit, amp gauge was around 12-13 volts, turn on A/C goes to 9 volts. Checked with volt meter 13.84 volts w/o air, 16.64 w/air. Any Ideas? TIA 99XJ Kevin in Iowa 99XJ 4.0 |

Could be one of the idlers jamming and keeping the serpentine from turning but that tends to take an awe inspiring amount of drag and tends to leave the belt rather polished in a hurry. |
