99 Tj power loss after startup
Ok... This has happened the past few times ive started up my tj. It starts fine
and then runs fine for a minute or so and then as im cruising down the road i can feel it lose power( but it doesnt stall) if i keep the gas pegged it acts as if ive taken my foot off the gas and then stomped on it, and then taken it off and then stomped on it etc. After a minute or so it clears up and doesnt reappear. I just drove 350 miles and it only happened as i just described right after startup. Im thiniking it got some water in the gas and it takes a while to settle in the tank and is then picked up by the fuel pickup. It starts fine because the gas in the lines is good and once that gas runs out it get to the watery gas, and after a while it gets all mixed up and is enough gas to run ok. What do you think? Ill probably throw some dry gas in there tomorrow. |

Do you have over thirty thousand miles on your plugs?

Re: 99 Tj power loss after startup
if it's a 4cy. there was a tsb for a revised fuel rail for a cold start throttle
issue such as yours Waveblast9 wrote: > Ok... This has happened the past few times ive started up my tj. Re: 99 Tj power loss after startup
No its a 6 cylinder, and yes I have way over 30 thousand miles on my plugs. I
guess that could be the reason, but why is it only after startup and then it just goes away? |
