99 JGC getting Air Bag warning light

My 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee has started getting an intermitent air bag
warning. It passes the initial power on test and the light usualy goes
out after 30 or 45 seconds. Any suggestions?

My '00 Body Diagnostic Procedures book says that
you need a DRBIII to read codes... it also says that
the symptoms you describe usually are an intermittent
problem (as you stated)... I'd take it to someone
with the reader tool, although I'd *like* to be able
to read my own codes... there's a web page about
using a laptop and serial port to do this somewhere...
go ahead and pay someone the money, you don't
want airbag problems!
