'98 TJ Overheating Problem
 

Engine was overheating. Replaced the thermo, water pump, and radiator
cap. Flushed and refilled radiator. Engine is still overheating (temp
gauge reads to the right of "210" or dead center). Also noticed no heat
blowing inside from heater. Any ideas? Clogged heater coil? Does
the 4.0L engine in a '98 require the "reverse rotation" water pump?
Didn't notice the old pump as reverse rotation, but when I look at it
and consider which direction the pulley is turning it sure looks like
the pump blades are in the wrong direction!

Open the radiator cap and check for flow.
I believe your application should be reverse rotation. On the old one
there should be a raised R on the pump case.

Checked the fan clutch? My gf's is giving out slowly on hers, gotta change
it soon.

All serpentine belts use reverse rotation. I have bought three
pumps for friends with the old nash six and all were boxed incorrectly.
