97 TJ failing Transfer case symptoms

What are the symptoms of the transfer case not working properly? We
just got lots of snow here and I have been using my 4WD with no
problem for a few weeks but lately I have begun to notice some
vibration underneath when I start the car and in reverse. It is fine
as I drive in and it warms up. Thanks
