Re: '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0L stall problem
remove the intake tube to the throttle body and lean off the carbon on the
throttle plate and bore see if that helps carb cleaner works ok but the parst stores sell the throttle cleaner that is more money Kyle Boran wrote: > I've been having a strange problem with my Jeep. Re: '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0L stall problem
I got some throttle body cleaner and electrical cleaner and sprayed
everything, then put some dielectric grease on the sockets. There were some carbon deposits around the butterfly. I also replaced the air filter just to make sure that was good. Seemed fine once I started it up, though it was a little hard to get started. I'm not certain if it's fixed, since the problem only happened very occasionally, but it's good now anyway. Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Re: '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0L stall problem
might be the torque converter- that happend to me. it would stall at
lights sometimes, and it would cut out if i went from drive to reverse or back, but not if I paused and held it at neutral for a couple seconds. we had a dealership fix it, so i dont know if they screwed us or not. it cost us around $1000. |
