The battery was in the jeep since before I bought it about 1.5 years
ago so who knows how long it has been there. Also the jeep had not
been run for a long distance for about two weeks. IŽll start by
cleaning the cables, then consider changing them, and then consider a
new battery. Now thinking about it, I had a weak start about a month
ago. Thanks for your help.

Among others, the engine will turn over and start but will not run more
than a couple of revs if the CPS signal is missing. Have you done
the ignition on-off-on-off-on dance and checked for codes?

I checked the codes yesterday and none came up. This seems to support
the idea that it is cables or battery. Thanks
