95 Wrangler (Power Steering Line Change) + (Whistling Noise)
 

The metallic parts in the middle of the 2 lines that are clamped
together cracked from old age. I am not a mechanic by any means. I
looked this procedure up in my Haynes manual but it does not tell how to
change the lines. It appears to be very tough to get at. Are there any
diagrams or instructions on the web that could help me attempt this?

I believe only the pressure line failed but cannot be absolutely sure.

I ordered the line from Advanced autoparts as their price of 20 dollars
was much better then my local dealership price of 42 dollars.






Also there is a whistling sound coming from under the hood. It started
after a radiator hose blew last year. After the hose was fixed the
noise remained. Its not constant but it occurs often. When the noise
occurs it lasts usually for about 5 seconds and then goes away for 10
seconds and then repeats.




Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It can be a bugger of a job. You might have to remove the pump and I
think you might have to drop the steering box down some to get at the
fittings.

A whistle usually means a vacuum line or air intake is loose somewhere.

Thanks Mike. Thats the info I needed. I guess Ill be sending it to the
dealer to get railed on the fix. Its too in depth for me and my lack of
mechanic ability. I appreciate the quick response.
